NEW MAC Fruity Juicy collecition 2017 pearlmatte face powder!

This is a review for the blush OH my passion! from the MAC Fruity Juicy collection.

MAC cosmetics is my weakness. Especially the lipsticks. I don’t have that many of their other products, but I ALWAYS need to go into their store when I see one. I need to work on that I know.

About the MAC Fruity, Juicy collection

MAC comes up with so many collections so often that it’s really hard to keep track so I don’t even bother. Every so often something will intrigue me and I will think about it… but I never buy anything.

How was the MAC Fruity Juicy collection any different? Well I went to Amsterdam with no real purpose of buying anything (should have left my wallet at home if I really ment it). Super fun thing to do on a sunny day! I ‘randomly’ walked by a MAC store, peeked inside and saw they had the whole Fruity, Juicy collection out! So ofcourse I had to check it out. They have:

• 4 lipsticks, not too exciting for my taste
• 4 lipglosses, pretty but I don’t wear lipgloss
• 2 eyeshadow palettes (plus one online), never had an interest in MAC eyeshadows
• couple of bronzers, haha
• lustre drops, meh
• prep + prime fix in coconut, fun but I still have the OG from a couple years back
• and finally the only thing I purchased, the OH my passion! pearlmatte face powder

The review

The blush/face powder from the MAC Fruity Juicy collection has 4 different colors in a nice hibiscus flower pattern that goes all the way through the bottom. There are a couple of mattes: a purpley/pink and a red/orange plus a yellow highlight color with a sheen and a bronze color that also has a sheen. When you swirl all the colors together you get a nice coral blush shade.

If you used a very small brush you might be able to just pick up some of that bronze color. But I did not have alot of success doing it that way. It always pulled too coraly for just a bronzer. However the highlight color is quite easy to pick up and use on the cheek bones. Just don’t expect to be getting a 3 in 1 deal here. The highlight is way to subtle and the bronzer is hard to use on it’s own, so it really only works as a blush.

The color that you get when you swirl all colors together is deffinitly a nice coral with a sheen. Not totally matte but no sparkles either (I tried to capture the finish in the photo below).

What I like about it is that it’s pigmented, but not too pigmented. Because I am white as the wall and I don’t like to use a blush that is gonna give me a clown effect when I first put it on. I like to build my blush and decide when I feel like beeing a clown on my own!

I think this blush shade would look good on any skin tone. If you have fair to medium skin you can use it as a blush. And if you have dark skin it might not show up quite as intense on you if you use it as a blush, but it would give a nice glow to the face. I think it’s smart how they made this product so that any skin tone can use it!

Do you need it?

I don’t think so. If you are a collector and you love the packaging of the MAC Fruity Juicy collection go for it, it’s a lovely blush. But it is still quite pricy for what it is, and you can get smiliar products at a much lover price. I discovered two dupes in my own collecition!
