Today I’m going to show you how I went from dark to blonde hair using ColourB4 Hair Colour Remover.
Dying my hair dark grey
So, remember when I toned my hair grey (read all about it here)? If you read the post you might know that I only managed to tone half of my hair. Even thought my hair is not long, apparently there’s alot of it. Ofcourse I couldn’t walk around like that forever so I made a very resonable decision to try something different. No, I wasn’t going to buy the same toner again and fix my hair I need some experimenting in my life so I choose a different product. A hair dye. Grey hair dye made for ladies that went naturally gray and would like to enhance their shade or change it. I got the Schwarzkopf Igora Royal Absolutes Silverwhite in the shade Slate grey.
The hair dying process
I was quite excited trying out a new product that could help me get a nice even grey color. So I mixed is as per instructions and put it all over my hair. Yes it looked quite dark already.
But you can never judge a hair color until you wash it all out and dry your hair. At that point I was not too worried. Oh but wait, I wash the dye out and shock…my hair was looking black. I dry it and…
Still looks super dark and way too realistic for my liking. It turned me into an actual old lady instead of a hip young person trying to have grey old lady hair. Makes sense? No? Some people might think it looks great but I was not used to seeing myself with such dark hair in over a year. I put on alot of makeup and that made me feel a bit better.
My next plan was to wait and see how it washes out. Spoiler: It does not, at least not really fast.
From previous experience I knew that color remover could help get rid of the grey but I was not quite sure how good the results were going to be. Am I going to be the same blonde shade as I was prior using the toner and then grey hair dye or is it going to be just a lighter grey shade? I decided I want to find out so I got myself the ColourB4 hair colour remover!
How does a hair color remover work?
I used the ColourB4 hair colour remover in Extra strenght. On their website they have a great useful description of how their hair remover works. So here is the link click.
In the box you get:
- Activator A
- Remover B
- Buffer C
- A pair of gloves, or in my case a single glove
- Instructions
Instructions say that for best results you should apply the hair remover on clean dry hair. So that’s exactly what I did first.
After my hair was clean and dry I mixed components A and B. I used a separate bowl and a brush. I applied the mixture all over my hair using my brush and my hands to fully saturate all of my hair. The processing time for the ColourB4 Extra is 60min. While the hair is processing you can wrap your head in some cling foil or a trash bag to insure an even and faster processing time. During that time you should avoid any drafts or cold hair to make it process evenly. That last part can be a challenge as the colour remover stinks like hell.
I could see the colour comming off straight away!
After 60 min I went into the shower to start the rinsing process. I recomend taking a full on shower instead of just washing your head under the sink because it’s a very long process. In those 60 min the artifical hair dye molecules have shrunk so now you need to wash them all out. Also bring a phone or stopwatch to time everything.
Step 1
Rinse your hair just using water for 5-10 min depending on hair lenght
Step 2
Use half of the buffer C to leather up your hair with really well. Leave for 1 min so it can absorb then rinse out with water for at least 5 min.
Step 3
Use the rest of the buffer C to leather up your hair just like you were using a shampoo then rinse it out until is all washes out.
In the instructions it did not say anything about using a regular shampoo and conditioner after this step so I can not tell you if you should or should not use it. I did use a small amount of shampoo and conditioner.
The results using ColourB4 hair colour remover
These are the before and after photos. I love the results so much I decided to keep the colour as is. Until I decide to do something crazy again :).

The conclusion
You can get the ColourB4 hair colour remover on Ličila.si click. It will cost you around 16€.
I love this product and would recomend the ColourB4 hair colour remover it to anyone that is not happy with their hair dye or would like to make a drastic change! My hair did not get damaged at all from the colour remover, it got damaged prior due to all the bleaching. This hair colour remover is said to work on permament and semi-permanent hair dyes. It can only remove artificial pigment from your hair.
Do not expect to have your exact natural hair colour back when you dye it using hair colors that need to be mixed with developer. Those hair dyes may contain peroxide, even if only a tiny amount. So even when you dye your hair black, your natural hair colour would have been slightly lightened in the process.
Using this hair colour remover is also not going to get your hair back to natural if you have been bleaching it.
Always read the instructions when playing with your hair. And if you are using this exact hair colour remover visit their website where you can find all the information and a ton of before and after photos! Click
I hope you enjoyed my hair journey and please leave a comment and let me know what hair colour you think I should try next!
